Steve Aniftos, Ph.D., P.E.
President

Steve is the president of Technico Construction Services. He founded the company in 1997, with a commitment to quality and safety above all else. Before setting out on his own, Steve gained more than 15 years of hands-on field experience. His time as an estimator, project manager and general manager taught him the importance of keeping a close eye on details, and he knows the difference between good work and great work. Steve also holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and two Master’s degrees (in Structural Engineering and in Engineering Management). He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of New York, and he has taught in various institutions in New York and New Jersey. His vision and leadership philosophy have contributed to a multitude of successful projects and continue to inspire success in daily operations.

    George Mantis
    Field Manager

    George, as the General Supervisor, with 20 years hands on experience in the construction industry, brings a world of knowledge to the TEAM. George as a former DDC Manager has received an award in year 2000 “in special recognition” during the Rudolph Giuliani Administration for “helping to advance the mission of the department”. George has lead the overall management for the construction of various type buildings and infrastructure, varying from public and private schools, museums, libraries, TA stations, and new private residential developments inclusive of mid rise and major building rehabilitation.
    George obtained his B.S. from LC Smith school of Engineering, Syracuse University.

      Peter Karaolis, CPA, MBA
      Chief Financial Officer

      Peter joined the Technico team in March of 2020. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in New York State, Peter has worked in public accounting, servicing construction companies for 25 years. Peter is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.
      He obtained his B.S. from CUNY and his MBA in Business Finance from Adelphi University.

        Mike Klappas
        Chief Estimator

        Mike an ASPE member has joined Technico in 2014 and brings with him more than 25 years experience in the construction industry as an Estimator. Over the last 15 years Mike has successfully estimated projects for both public and private agencies up to $500 million. Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical and Chemical Engineering, as well as his Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science from SUNY Stony Brook.

          Peter Ermogenous
          Project Director

          Peter joined Technico in 2014 bringing 10 years of Management experience. As the Project Director he is responsible for overseeing day to day aspects of the Project Management Team. While mentoring and coaching team members, his role also includes project closure, final project acceptance and monitoring project financial status. Peter’s strong communication skills and Leadership qualities make him an asset to our team. Peter studied Business Management and CIS at Baruch College.

            Fenya Boyanides
            Development and Controls Director

            Fenya has over 12 years of experience in the public sector, undertaking diverse projects ranging from ground-up construction and rehabilitation to green infrastructure and waste management. Since joining Technico in 2016, Fenya has steadily advanced within the company, leveraging her strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail. Transitioning from roles in Quality Control and Management, she now serves as the Development and Controls Director, spearheading the creation of proposals and presentations, while fostering key relationships with designers. Additionally, Fenya oversees document control and ensures quality assurance across all projects. Fenya holds a Bachelor's and a Master's in Environmental Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

              Anthony Sanchez
              Safety Director

              Anthony joined Technico in 2023 bringing with him over 15 years of experience in construction safety. From covering major building construction as a licensed site safety coordinator, to supervising inspector in the Construction Safety Compliance Unit of the NYC Department of Buildings for 5 years, he brings safety and value to our team.

              Anthony obtained his bachelor’s in architectural technology along with a certificate in Construction Management from CUNY City College of Technology, Brooklyn, NY. He is also a Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST).

                Andrew Biedrzycki
                Warehouse Manager

                Andrew has been with Technico since 1999. Quickly proving to be an efficient supervisor, bringing excellent results on his projects, he worked his way up to warehouse manager. In this position, key to the company’s smooth operation, he is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the warehouse. He is also in charge of ordering and delivery of materials to all of Technico’s projects, as well as ensuring equipment is properly maintained and available at the sites when needed. Andrew graduated from the Technical School for Construction Superintendents.
