MTA FACILITY ROOF RESTORATION

This project encompassed a series of critical roof repairs across multiple MTA facilities, addressing both operational needs and long-term durability. Among these, the Jerome Avenue Maintenance Yard stood out as the most complex, with its distinctive 50,000-square-foot “saw-tooth” standing seam metal and skylight roof requiring highly specialized restoration. The work was undertaken with the dual goals of preserving unique architectural structures while ensuring uninterrupted transit operations.

The project

Our team was directly involved in managing the challenging logistics and construction sequencing required for a fully active maintenance yard. With constant train movement and ongoing facility operations, planning and coordination were critical. Careful measures were implemented to provide temporary protection for sensitive areas below the work zone while securing reliable access to a building surrounded by adjacent structures.

The development

The development of this project included the reconstruction of specialized roof assemblies, integration of long-lasting materials, and upgrades designed to strengthen weather resilience. In addition to addressing immediate repair needs, the work provided opportunities to improve system performance and extend the service life of the facility. Close collaboration with the MTA allowed us to adapt the construction process to site-specific challenges, ensuring safety, efficiency, and minimal disruption.

THE RESULT

A fully restored roof system at Jerome Yard and other MTA facilities that balances functionality with durability. These improvements not only protect the integrity of the structures but also reinforce the MTA’s ability to maintain reliable operations. The successful completion of this contract highlights our expertise in complex infrastructure work and our commitment to delivering projects that meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
