Three Stations

A New York City Transit Authority project involving structural repairs and upgrades at Three Stations of the 8th Avenue Line – 103rd, 145th and 168th Street. The majority of the works are located at 145th Street Station which was built in 1906 and consists of replacement of all platform edges and making them ADA compliant, toppings, new rubbing board set to the best fit line and new non-slip warning strip tack tile. The challenge in performing each of these activities is limited by the time constraints of completing the works and returning the station back to service within a fifty three-hour window of a weekend General Order, as well as accessibility to the work locations. Work at the other locations involves similar activities as well as structural repairs and reinforcing of the existing steel columns and beams. Existing leaks were mitigated by the application of chemical injections.
